Add the Prometheus data source
Grafana provides built-in support for a Prometheus data source. In this step of your journey, you add the Prometheus data source and give it a name.
To add the Prometheus data source, complete the following steps:
- Click Connections in the left-side menu.
- Under Connections, click Add new connection.
- Enter
Prometheusin the search bar. - Select Prometheus.
- Click Add new data source in the upper right.
- Enter a name for the data source.
Did you know?
The name of the data source is displayed on the dashboard panels, so it’s important to choose a meaningful name. If there are multiple data sources for a dashboard panel, the default toggle determines which data source appears by default.
In the next step of your journey, you’ll add the Prometheus server URL.
