Instrument an application with OpenTelemetry

Use the Grafana OpenTelemetry and upstream OpenTelemetry SDKs to instrument your application and export telemetry data to send to Grafana Cloud or an OpenTelemetry Collector distribution such as Grafana Alloy or the upstream OpenTelemetry Collector.

Grafana recommends you should use Beyla, an eBPF auto-instrumentation solution, which offers the easiest and quickest set up for all languages and frameworks. Alternatively it’s recommended to use Grafana distributions of the Java and .Net SDKs. If you need language specific runtime telemetry data, use a language specific instrumentation solution, for example the Java auto-instrumentation agent.
