Service Center

For organizations with complex software systems with many components, it can be useful to have a service-oriented view of your Ops and IRM resources, SLOs, and incidents. Each view of your Services brings together useful information related to individual services, such as active alerts, incidents, SLO metrics, and other relevant information for your teams.

The Service Center works by looking for objects with labels or tags matching the value you enter. Once you’ve added a service to the Service Center, all relevant data is collected and displayed in the service you created.

Future updates will include:

  • Functionality to gauge the progress week-to-week or month-to-month to view the trend of your service performance.
  • Visibility into who is currently OnCall and which team owns the service.
  • Visibility into fired OnCall alert groups related to a service.
  • Visibility into fired alert notifications.
  • Service dependency graphs.
  • Stakeholder notifications for services.
  • Get service alerts when a dependent service is impacted.

Add a service

To add a new service:

  1. Click the Create Service button.
  2. Enter a name for the service.
  3. (Optional) Enter a description of the service.
  4. (Optional) Enter any custom attributes you want to associate with the service with the Add Attribute dropdown.
  5. Enter a service identifiers value. SLOs with this label and any incidents or dashboards containing that tag will be used to populate the service details.

    Note

These identifiers cannot be edited after creation.
  6. (Optional) Select any pre-defined dependent services.
  7. Click Create.

Note

Currently there is no API or Terraform support in public preview. Support will be added in subsequent updates.

View your services

Navigate to the Service Center page and select your service. This takes you to the single-pane view of your operational resources. Here you can get a current picture of your service’s performance. Click on any individual resource to go to that product area. You can also edit your service details here or delete the service from the Service Center altogether.
