Meet the Grafana Labs Team: Florian Boucault!
As Grafana Labs continues to grow, we’d like you to get to know the team members who are working on the cool stuff you’re using. Check out the latest of our Friday team profiles.
Meet Florian!
Name: Florian Boucault
Grafana Labs Software Engineer Florian Boucault
Current location/time zone I live in Paris, France (UTC+1).
What do you do at Grafana Labs?
Day to day at Grafana Labs, I am on the team that runs our Graphite-compatible Metrictank cluster that our customers use. That involves SRE work, taking care of our internal automation tools as well as improving Metrictank itself. In terms of code my days are mostly in Golang, with a tiny bit of Python and shell scripts. Our main goals are reliability and performance: low latency for a better user experience and using less memory for lower costs.
What open source projects do you contribute to?
Most of my time is taken contributing to Metrictank. Lately I’ve been focusing on how to move data between Metrictank clusters.
What are your GitHub and Twitter handles?
I’m fkaleo on GitHub and @FlorianKaleo on Twitter.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to spend time with my daughter, Alice, who is full of energy and curiosity. As much as possible I try to act for the protection of our planet and climate.
Do you like to code in silence, with music or ambient noise on your headphones, or with people talking around you?
Music always with no outside interruption or noise.
What’s the last thing you binge-watched?
Borgen, or how Danish politics are somewhat tame compared to other countries.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I can pick locks. Don’t tell anyone. ;)
