Meet the Grafana Labs Team: Sofia Papagiannaki
As Grafana Labs continues to grow, we’d like you to get to know the team members who are building the cool stuff you’re using. Check out the latest of our Friday team profiles.
Meet Sofia!
Name: Sofia Papagiannaki
Grafana Labs Backend Engineer Sofia Papagiannaki
Current location/time zone: I’m located in Heraklion, Crete (Greece - EET/EEST timezone).
What do you do at Grafana Labs? I’m software developer focusing on backend.
What open source projects do you contribute to? Sad to say I haven’t contributed as much as I would like to. I was member of the development team of the storage service of synnefo, but since then only occasionally I made some contributions to other open source projects. Fortunately, last month I joined Grafana, and my GitHub has started getting green again.
What are your GitHub and Twitter handles? My GitHub account is papagian. I’m not so active tweeting; I’m mainly a news consumer.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like to switch off and go offline. I try, with not much success though, to reduce my list of books that I want to read, which consists mainly of some contemporary and classic literature and also a bit of social science material. I often go to the movies too; I rarely miss the weekly screenings of the local cinema club, and during the summer I love to go to the town’s open-air cinema. Finally, occasionally I participate to local initiatives engaged with social and ecological matters.
Do you like to code in silence, with music or ambient noise on your headphones, or with people talking around you? Music! Radio for feature implementation, something minimalistic for bug fixing, something less talkative for serious debugging, and finally, this for celebrating a closed issue!
Spaces or tabs? :set tabstop=4 shiftwidth=4 expandtab :)
